How it started

On this page I will tell you a bit about my photography story. I started with a simple digital camera from my sister when I was 16 years old. Back then, I was helping out at a stable and the owner had beautiful horses and I wanted to take pictures of them. (mostly of the welsh ponies, a few generations of the same breeding line) It was only a matter of short time until I fell in love with photography and the endless posibilities that came along with it.

The camera always came with me because I was so eager to learn and to better myself. After a few months, it was clear that I needed a new camera, one of my own and one that could do more. On my 18th birthday I got the best present in the world. It was a Nikon D3200 DSLR. I made so many beautiful memories with it and that really was a dream come true.

One of my favorite self portraits. I took it in 2015, with my Nikon 3200. and yes, the apple was really that red!

and now?

I used this camera for over 4 years and it helped me to improve my skills in so many ways and eventually it was time for her to retire. (she will always stay with me!) I upgraded my camera to a Nikon d610 DSLR which again, opened new doors for me. You can tell that I’m excited about my journey, right? You can follow it by clicking here

Smartphone photography

Do I always take my camera with me? the answer is no. I love my camera but sometimes the weight is literally to heavy on my shoulder. So when I don’t know what I’m going to photograph or when and if I will be walking most of the day, I will take my smartphone with me instead. My current phone is a Huawei p20 pro and the camera is insane. Smartphone photography is still a bit underrated but it works wonders if you want to shoot some nice snapshots or even holiday pictures. Having said that, I made a page fully dedicated to smartphone photography. You will find some of my favorite photo’s on this page. (all the photo’s are made with Huawei p20 pro and edited on this same phone too.) want to know what I am talking about? take a look!
